1 About The Fresh Connection

a. What does the game imply?
The Fresh Connection is an Internet game for supply chain professionals. Invented, developed and supported by experts in the field of supply chain management (SCM). As from the 7th of February, more than 200 Supply chain professionals in Belgium will carry away themselves in the world of The Fresh Connection. In the game the participants play the Management Team of a company which produces and sells fruit juices. There are 4 roles per team:
  • Vice-president Supply Chain who is responsible for logistic and planning decisions
  • Vice-president Purchasing who occupies him/herself with among others the supplier choice and - agreements
  • Vice-president Operations who leads and structures the operations and the warehouse
  • Vice-president Sales who makes choices in the field of customer service, prioritizing and promotions
Each week the teams take part in this spectacular Internet game. Tasks, information and choice possibilities are dished up by means of Internet. The game lasts six weeks, where each week is equal to half a year in reality. As a team you engage yourself with strategic and tactical choices. The intelligent software behind the game calculates each week the consequences for the operation. The results (of your own choices) form the starting point the week after. The aim is to obtain an as high as possible Return on Investment (profit) with the company.

This is just possible at a later moment. Some weeks before the start of the competition the one that is put forward as a contact at the team registration, shall be informed about this.
